Canadian fishing and hunting retreat located in Northwest Ontario on Pakwash Lake, part of the Chukuni and English River systems.
Paukuni Lodge was built privately in the 1950s, opened commerically in 1983 and presently run as a Resort. Pakuni Lodge is small enough to be used privately or by groups. The Camp is located on the south end of Pakwash Lake, 24 miles west of Ear Falls, Ontario and has 3.2 acres, +/-600 feet of sand beach, level grounds with drive access. Pakuni Lodge consists of a residence, four cabins, electrical generating facility, fish cleaning house, pump house, storage shed and a 8 X 260 dock. All cabins and house have modern ammenities.
Pakwash Lake is approximately five miles wide and ten miles long and is connnected to the Chukuni River, English River, Trout River, Cedar River and numerous creeks. Other lakes connected to the system are Lost Lake, Camping Lake, Hidden Lake, Bruce Lake and East Lake. The entire system is navigable from camp with the exception of the Cedar River requiring a portage.
Fishing consists of Walley, Nothern Pike, Small Mouth Bass and Perch. Healthy populations of all species thrive in the Lake. Abundant wildlife consisting of Moose, Deer, Bear, Wolf, Ruffed and Sharp-tail Grouse and Duck.
